Volta

Also called Turn

The point where a poem turns — changes direction, mood or argument.

Volume and surface area

How much space a solid takes up, and how much skin it has.

Waves

Transverse and longitudinal, and the properties every wave has.

Weather hazards

Tropical storms and extreme UK weather: formation, effects and management.

Weathering and mass movement

Rock broken down in place, and material moving downslope. Not the same as erosion.

What to do when you disagree

A practical order of escalation, and the mistake that costs the most time.

Work experience

Time spent in a workplace as part of education. Not compulsory, and worth arranging anyway.

Writing a conclusion

Saying what the results show, with the data, and how confident you can be.

Writing to argue or persuade

Non-fiction writing to a form, an audience and a purpose. All three are marked.

A child who cares for a family member. They have a legal right to an assessment.
