Care is people work. So why does most of it happen on a form?

Fiducia Together is one system for the person being supported, the family beside them, and the service that has to prove every last bit of it. Built by the people who were already doing the caring, and the paperwork.

We built this because we were the ones filling the forms in

There is a particular kind of tired that arrives at the end of a shift, when the care is finished and the recording has not started. You know the one. You have done the work properly, with real attention, and now you have to prove you did it. Three times. In three places. None of which talk to each other.

Between us we hold more than twenty years in the care industry, ten years in software engineering, a qualified person-centred counsellor and a qualified nursery nurse. And in every single case, a family member with complex needs.

We are not a technology company that discovered care. We are carers who got tired of the software. So we wrote our own.

The dull name for what we wrote is care management software, and the dull name is the honest one. What it means here is one record of a person's day, their health, their support and their money, with a different way in for everybody entitled to a different part of it. The recording has to happen where the care does — on a phone, at the time, in about as long as it takes to think the sentence — rather than at a desk at ten at night with the shift already over and the details already going. Everything further down this page is detail hanging off that one idea.

Start from wherever you actually are

Three very different people land on this page and none of them want the same thing. Pick the one that sounds most like you. All three doors open on the same system; what changes is what you see first, and what you are allowed to do once you are through it.

Six front doors, one record behind them

What changes between these apps is not the information. It is whose hands it is in, and what that person is entitled to see. A support worker writing a note at the end of a visit, a parent reading it that evening and a manager pulling it into an inspection return are all looking at the same entry, written once. Nothing is re-typed into a second system, and nothing is held in two places to quietly drift apart.

Fiducia Talk is free, and it is staying free

308 symbol cards. A phonics keyboard that builds words sound by sound. A big-key keyboard for spelling. Switch scanning for anybody who cannot tap a screen, because for some people scanning is not an extra, it is how they talk at all.

It speaks in your device's own voice. It needs no internet once it has loaded. Nothing you say ever leaves the device you say it on, because there is no server for your words to go to.

On the App Store for iPhone and iPad, as an Android download, and in any browser. No account. No trial that runs out. Communication is a human right and we are not going to charge rent on it.

Have a proper look round before you tell us anything

The demo is the real suite with a fictional service inside it. You get a disposable login, there is no sign-up form, and everything you touch is deleted the moment you leave.

Go and open things. Break something. We would rather you did it there.

Compliance should be a by-product of the work, not a second job

Most care software treats inspection as a separate exercise. You deliver the care, then you assemble the proof that you delivered it, usually in a rush, usually the week before somebody arrives.

We build it the other way round. The workflows map to the CQC Single Assessment Framework's five key questions, so the report comes out of the record keeping rather than being reconstructed from it afterwards. The audit trail is a tamper-evident chain, which means an entry cannot be quietly edited after the fact. Including by us.

Personal data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit over TLS 1.3, with TLS 1.2 the oldest version we will accept. We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The platform meets WCAG 2.1 AA, with high-contrast modes, scalable text, sensory-friendly palettes and switch-access compatibility.

We operate to Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 controls and to the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit standard. We are not certified against them yet. That certification is scheduled ahead of enterprise contracts, and we would rather say so plainly than let you assume otherwise.

Our server runs on wind, sun and sea, and we chose it for that

Fiducia sits on a private server at Krystal, a UK host we picked for how they run rather than for what they charge. The credentials below are theirs and not ours, which is rather the point of naming them.

A certified B Corp

Krystal scored 81.8 on the B Impact assessment, against a median of 50.9 for an ordinary business. They are members of 1% for the Planet, and they have pledged to plant and protect a billion trees by 2030.

A tree every month, for every client

One tree planted each month for every active customer, ours included. More than five million are already in the ground.

ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus

Krystal holds both today. We do not hold them yet, and we are not going to borrow somebody else's badges. Ours are scheduled ahead of enterprise contracts, and until then this is the honest position: the infrastructure beneath us is certified, and we are not.

One review. It is the reason we kept going.

I would highly recommend this app to everyone. An excellent app, very easy to use, and a great company to be involved with — they go above and beyond to make sure the app is suited to my son's needs. It's been life changing for my son, our family and his care team.

Looking for a test before the test?

We cannot diagnose you. No computer can, and anybody claiming otherwise is selling something. What we can do is build a non-diagnostic profile of where the barriers actually sit, at home, at school and out in the world.

It is untimed and you can complete it across more than one sitting. Take the result to your GP or your SENCO. It may save everyone a little time in a referral, so please do share it.

It will also set up the accessibility settings across our apps for you, if you would like it to.

Pay for the parts you actually switch on

Family is £49 a month for up to 10 people and covers Guardian and Life. Business in a Box is £149 a month. Or build your own from nine areas and pay for exactly what you turn on, from £25 a month.

One Direct Debit. Change it whenever your service changes, because services change.

Ask us something difficult

Tell us what you are trying to solve and we will tell you honestly whether we solve it. If we do not, we will usually know who does. We would rather lose an hour telling you this is the wrong software for your service than spend six months finding it out together. There is no sales team to get past — the people who answer are the people who wrote it.
