English as an additional language
A pupil whose first language is not English. Not a special educational need.

How to spend the minutes. The most transferable thing you can revise for English.
Enjambment
Also called Run-on line, End-stopped line, Caesura
A sentence running over the end of a line of poetry without a pause.
Enzymes

EOTAS
Also called Education otherwise than at school, Section 61
A package of education arranged outside any school, named in an EHCP. Rare, and a genuine option.
EPQ
Also called Extended Project Qualification
A self-directed project worth half an A Level. Independent research, and universities like it.
Equality Act in schools
Also called Disability discrimination, Equality Act 2010
The law that makes it unlawful for a school to discriminate against a disabled child. A separate route from SEND law, and often the stronger one.

The public sector equality duty: what schools must actively do, not just avoid.
