What it means
Reviews on Google, Trustpilot, Checkatrade and sector platforms, plus ratings and testimonials on your own site.
Why it matters
Reviews are the single biggest influence on choice for most local services, and volume and recency matter as much as the average score.
What it looks like in practice
Ask every satisfied customer, at the moment they are satisfied. Reply to every review including the bad ones — the reply is read by everyone who reads the review.
What to watch out for
Incentivised or fabricated reviews are unlawful under the DMCC Act, and so is hiding negative ones. Suppressing a bad review is now an enforcement risk as well as a bad idea.
Where to get proper advice
