Local SEO
Being found by people nearby. The highest-return marketing for most local businesses.

What it means
Local SEO covers the map results and local search: your Google Business Profile, reviews, local citations and consistent name, address and phone details.
Why it matters
For a trade, a clinic, a café or a care provider, the map pack is above the organic results and gets most of the clicks.
What it looks like in practice
Claim and complete the Business Profile: hours, services, photographs, and the correct category. Ask for reviews routinely and reply to all of them.\n\nKeep your name, address and phone identical everywhere they appear.
What to watch out for
Fake reviews. Both Google and the CMA treat them as a serious matter, and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act made fake reviews explicitly unlawful.
Where to get proper advice
Google Business Profile support, free. Your own review count against your competitors' is the honest benchmark.
