Cost per acquisition by channel
What each marketing route actually costs you per customer.

What it means
Channel-level customer acquisition cost: total spend on a channel divided by customers acquired through it.
Why it matters
Blended CAC hides everything. Referrals at near-zero cost and paid search at £400 average to something that looks acceptable and tells you nothing about where to put the next pound.
What it looks like in practice
Include the people cost, not just the media spend. And include the cost of the enquiries that did not convert.
What to watch out for
Attribution. When somebody sees an advert, asks a friend and then searches your name, deciding which channel earned it is a judgement.
Where to get proper advice
Your own figures. No external source knows your business.
