What it is
The marks available tell you how many creditable points are expected and roughly how long to spend.

How it works
A four-mark question wants four creditable points, or two developed ones depending on the scheme. Writing eight scores four and costs the time another question needed.
How to use it in your work
Aim for one creditable point per mark, plus development where the command word asks for it.
Use the space provided as a guide — boards size it deliberately.
If you finish a paper very early, you have probably under-answered somewhere. Go back to the highest-tariff question.
